About
Hi, I'm Douglas. I'm a frontend engineer with over 15 years of experience designing and building web applications, mostly with React, TypeScript and GraphQL. I started as a C++/Lua developer at TerraLAB, then spent many years as a frontend engineer at CI&T, working with clients across many industries. After that I was a senior frontend engineer on the core team at Toptal and a senior software engineer at Fortis Games. For the last decade I've worked fully remote.
Web Dev Drops is where I write about the tools and techniques I use at work: Git, JavaScript and TypeScript, React, Node.js and, more recently, AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. I've been publishing tutorials since 2011, first in Portuguese and now mostly in English.

How posts are written
Every tutorial is about something I've used myself, and the commands and code in it are run before the post goes live. When a tool changes, I update the post and its "Updated at" date. I use AI tools to help with research, editing and illustrations, but the topics, testing and final review are mine.
